Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Using CBT approaches to focus on resiliency, strengths and ways to enhance recovery efforts. CBT seeks to modify self-defeating thoughts and behaviors.
Individualized approach
Alcohol and substance counseling combines elements of behavioral therapy, cognitive social learning therapy, cognitive therapy, Dialectical Behavioral therapy and other therapies to help recognize situations in which alcohol or substance use is likely, find better ways to avoid those situations and learn ways to cope with the feelings and situations that lead to use or relapse behaviors.
Screening, Assessment and Referral
During the first few sessions, the focus is on completing screening and assessments. This is to determine whether an outpatient setting is appropriate or whether a referral for more intense services is needed.
